In the last year of his life, Philip Aziz found spiritual, emotional and practical support within the Church in the City community. After his death from an AIDS-related illness, he bequeathed his estate to CITC with the request that they start a hospice that would offer others with life-limiting illnesses the same unconditional acceptance and help that he had received. Since 1995, the Philip Aziz Centre has helped provide hospice care to hundreds of adults, children and families in the comfort of their own homes. Work is now underway on construction of Emily House, Toronto’s first Children’s Residential Home.
