Job at CITC: Child-wrangler, teacher, organizer.
Tagline: “There’s no politics. It’s all about loving people, and you don’t get that at most churches.”
Random fact: I have an obsession with Superman. I don’t know what I am going to do without Smallville. I love cop shows.

I grew up in East York and used to go to a church in the Beach – I said I’d never work or live there…and now I do both. I started attending CITC when I was 15 – the rule in our house was that you had to attend church until you were 16, and I was desperately waiting for that birthday. My mom decided to change churches because of my countdown; we ended up at CITC and I still haven’t left.

The church is my home.

I started working with children here in 2001 through another organization and then the church hired me on. I really felt when I was making that initial job decision that God told me to “grow where I’m planted.” He’s placed me here and this is where I’m supposed to grow.

A lot of the kids here I started with in JK and now they’re heading off to high school! So many people are in and out of their lives, and I’ve always believed in being a consistent and (hopefully) good influence in peoples’ lives. These kids are great.

My hope for them is that they’ll know God and that they’ll love him as they know who he is.

It’s a want people have, to be a part of this, to be a part of these programs and this community. There’s a great want for people to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
